Monthly Vegan Potluck Lunches

We hold informal social gatherings in the form of vegan potluck lunches from February to December each year.
Our potlucks
are held on the first Sunday of every month (other than January), from 12noon to 2pm, at 'The Apartment' at 35 Dowling Street in the inner city. (See Map Below).

The aim of these gatherings is to enjoy delicious vegan kai (food) with like-minded people in a friendly, relaxed, supportive environment.

Everyone is welcome at our potlucks, vegans and non-vegans alike. Feel free to bring along friends, family and children.

Please bring a vegan dish to share along with a small note of ingredients so those with allergies can make informed choices.

If you’re unsure what to bring, check out some of these websites for inspiration and some easy, affordable vegan recipes:

Vegan kai doesn't have to be fancy. It can be as simple as tossing together a fresh salad, dips and vegetables, or some yummy dark chocolate.

The shared kai is what makes these events great, so please bring a dish if you can. But if you're genuinely unable to, still come along, the more the merrier!

Note: Please bring a koha (donation) to help cover the cost of the venue and other expenses, a gold coin is fine

See you there!

Note 1:
Veganism is a social justice movement which has respect for non-human animals at it's core. We also acknowledge the environmental and human rights benefits of veganism, and the health benefits of a plant-based diet. As much as is possible and practicable, vegans avoid ALL forms of animal exploitation. This includes avoiding all animal-derived foods, and foods which contain these things as ingredients: even in small quantities. That includes foods derived from organic, free range, or wild animals. To find out more about veganism and what foods are and aren't vegan, check out the 'About Veganism' page on our website.

Note 2: If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements (other than being vegan) please let one of the DŌVeS organisers know. You can use the Contact Page on our website, message us via our Facebook page, or just chat to us on the day. While we can't make any 100% guarantees, DŌVeS is always happy to try and help people identify which dishes are suited to your needs, and which ones aren't.

Note 3: To receive an email reminder each time one of our potlucks is happening (and more!) join the DŌVeS email list via our Contact Page. You can also keep up to date by joining our Facebook page.
