World Vegan Day Otepoti/Dunedin 2017
The Dunedin/Ōtepoti Vegan Society (DOVeS) and friends are hosting a potluck feast on Wednesday the 1st of November in celebration of World Vegan Day.
Being vegan is awesome. It’s a powerful but easy lifestyle choice that is good for animals, good for the planet, and even good for our health. We love being vegan, and think it’s something worth celebrating!
This is the third year we've run this event, and it just keeps getting bigger and better every year. We welcome anyone and everyone to come and join us on our special day.
The event will be in the Age Concern Otago building at No. 9 The Octagon from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. (See photo below for location of Age Concern).
As well as loads of delicious vegan food, there will be stalls with information and merchandise, some great live music, children's activities, a raffle with some awesome prizes, and spot prizes and giveaways.
Our line up of musicians and performers is yet to be confirmed. Watch this space...
- Yourself, your friends, and your family.
- Your own drink/s of choice. (No alcohol please).
- Vegan Food! We encourage everyone to bring a vegan dish to share. If you’re unsure what to bring, there are many good websites with easy vegan recipes. Food can be mains, deserts, or snacks.
To find out about veganism and what foods are and aren't vegan, check out the About Veganism page on our website.
There will be no cooking facilities, so please bring your food already heated, or bring something that can be served cold. The food will be placed on a central table for people to share.
If you have any special dietary requirements - apart from being vegan of course! - you are welcome to bring your own food, as well as, or instead of, food for sharing.
All welcome. Vegan and non-vegan alike.
See you there! :-)
