We had planned to have our celebrations outdoors in the Upper Octagon. But the weather wasn't much good, so we went to 'Plan B': an indoor event in the Age Concern Otago building in the lower Octagon.
We estimate that somewhere between 150 and 200 people attended.
There was tons of absolutely awesome food. Thank you everyone who brought some to share. Thanks also to Pamela, Pete, and Jaimee, who made an amazing amount of free food on behalf of DŌVeS. A huge thank you also goes out to Hell Pizza (North Dunedin) who provided 10 free pizzas. Thanks also to Naturalley - Organic Cafe, Taste Nature, Potpourri Vegetarian Cafe, and Liquid Assets Juice Bar, for providing free food for us too.
Thanks also, to our fabulous musicians, Duke, Darren Stowe, 'The Generators' (Aka Leo & Oscar LaDell), Darryl Baser, Jason Wieblitz, and 'Dance Dance Insurrection' (Aka Lisandru and Jack). You were all excellent, and made the event extra awesome.
Thanks also to Age Concern Otago for the great venue at a very reasonable price, and Phantom Billstickers for helping us promote the event.
Thanks also to everyone else who helped make the event happen: Pamela, Jaimee, Adele, Haley, Carl, Oska, Bex, Tayla, Baylee, Robyn, Sonja, Alice, Lewis, Bert, Marusya, Kelli, and Malte. You were all awesome. (And if we've forgotten anyone, please forgive us! Just let us know and we'll add your name in here.)
Finally, we want to thank all of our generous sponsors and supporters: LUSH New Zealand, New World Centre City, Why Not Hair & Body?, Naturalley Organic Cafe, Rapunzel's Hair Design, The Good Earth Café, Sea Shepherd New Zealand, Indian Food Mart, Dunedin, Taste Nature, Liquid Assets Juice Bar, Modaks Espresso, Hell Pizza, Amanda Shanley, and Black Cat Café. You are all amazing, and we are extremely grateful for your generosity!
