DŌVeS World Vegan Day Potluck Feast at The Apartment 2020
This was the second of our two DŌVeS World Vegan Day events for 2020. We estimate about 100 people attended. It was lovely to catch up with lots of old friends and great to meet loads of cool new people.
The food was absolutely amazing! Seriously. It was supposed to be a feast, and it certainly lived up to that expectation. We would like to thank every single person who contributed. We would especially like to thank Max North and his crew who organised the “build-a-burger” which was absolutely superb!
We’d also like to send out a huge thank you to Watson’s Eatery, Let Them Eat Vegan, Vegetarian and Vegan Vault at Origin Foods, Potpourri Vegetarian Cafe, and Gelato Junkie for the food they so generously supplied, and Kapowai Kombucha for their delicious drinks. We’d also like to thank Sunray Health 2000, The Corner Store Cafe, and Lisa Cassidy Personal Trainer for our wonderful spot prizes.
We’d also like to thank everyone else who made it extra special. That includes our featured musicians, Darren Stowe, Alex King, and Brenna Cropley, and our ‘open mic’ musicians Carl, Erin, Duke, and Rebbecca, along with the enthusiastic drummers who joined in near the end.
We would also like to thank Bonny Gray-Thompson who organised our quiz and word search; Erin O’Loan and Briar Comins who managed our raffle table; John and Michelle Gillanders for organising our children’s activities; Sam Bhaduri who took these excellent photos; and Ludo Dutoit who ran an awesome Sea Shepherd stall. We sincerely apologise if we’ve missed anyone else who contributed.
And finally, we’d like to give a great big thank you to everyone who came along. More than one person commented to us that they thought the Dunedin vegan community is a really nice bunch of people. We couldn’t agree more!
